Britain has many excellent campsites, from wilderness camping on the rugged inhospitable moors of Devon and Cornwall to comfortable family caravanning in Cumbria, and there is something to suit every kind of camping enthusiast.  Here are some of the top camping sites on offer in Britain.

• Three Cliffs Bay, Gower – this campsite has some stunning views out over the beautiful Gower coastline, and is situated very close to the beach (although it is a bit of a steep climb).  The area is ideal for long coastal and countryside walks, and the main bonus is that because the public car park is quite a long walk from the main beach, you will find even in the height of summer the beach is never overcrowded.  Summer prices start from a £14 for a family tent (two adults, two children) or £11 for a small tent (two adults).
• The Warren, Folkestone, Kent – this campsite also has some amazing views out over the ocean and surrounding coastline, and is situated at the top of those beautiful iconic white cliffs that stretch from Dover to Folkestone.  There are also a few nice hideaway camping areas at the site tucked in among the trees, which are great for those campers who want a bit more privacy.  Costs start from £4.65 per adults, £2.05 per children per night, for Caravan and Camping Club members.
• Vale Of Pickering Caravan Park, North Yorkshire – this campsite is set in some of the most beautiful countryside in Yorkshire and is perfect for families as it has an excellent children’s play area and a large games field perfect for football, rounders and other games.  The toilet and washing facilities are first class, and the whole site is well-maintained and kept in excellent condition.  Prices start from £10 per tent pitch.
