The magnificent Amalienborg Palace is the winter residence of Denmark’s royal family and is right in the heart of Denmark.  The stunning classical architecture features a number of notable highlights including the beautiful square which houses an impressive equestrian statue of King Frederick V.  The palace interior offers perfectly preserved and maintained rococo furnishings and the changing of the ceremonial guard at noon every day is a fascinating sight.

The Light Visions Festival

If you are visiting Denmark in October then a visit to the peaceful harbor town of Frederikshavn is a must, as this is when the annual Light Visions Festival takes place.  A number of amazing experimental lighting structures are installed around the town, creating breathtaking works of art that light up the evening skies.

Kronborg Castle

The stunning 16th Century Kronborg Castle is famous throughout the world for being the castle around which the events in the Shakespeare play ‘Hamlet’ take place.  This amazing structure combines an impressive military fortress with elegant Renaissance splendor and highlights include the huge grand ballroom and the beautifully preserved chapel.
