Day 1

Ex Srinagar:

Arrival at Srinagar Airport and transfer to the hotel. In the evening Boat ride "Shikara" around Dal Lake. Overnight at the Hotel.

Srinagar:

Srinagar is the Summer Capital of the Indian State of Jammu & Kashmir & is the pride of the beautiful valley of Kashmir. Srinagar is located in the western part of the state of Jammu & Kashmi & lies on the banks of the Jhelum River. It is the largest city in the state. The City is famous for its gardens, Lakes and houseboats. If is also well known for traditional Kashmiri handicrafts & dry fruits.

After Breakfast, proceed for City Tour of Srinagar visiting

Nishat Bagh:

The Nishat Bagh is another lovely garden with its 12 terraces representing the 12 signs of the zodiac, which descend gradually and seem to almost merge into the lake. It is situated on the banks of world famous Dal Lake in the backdrop of Zabarwan hills. With its flowerbeds, trees, fountains, the Nishat presents a dramatic sight. The gardens were designed in 1633 by Asaf Khan, brother of Nur Jahan, and follow the same pattern as the Shalimar gardens with a polished stone channel running down the centre and a series of terraces. It's the largest of the Mughal gardens measuring 548 metres by 338 metres, and often the most crowed. The walks beside the channel are bordered with lines of cypresses and Chinars. Also found within its vicinity are some remains of Mughal period buildings including a double storey pavilion enclosed on two sides' latticed windows.

Pahalgam

Pahalgam is also associated with the annual Amarnath Yatra. Chandanwari (2,895 m), 16 km from Pahalgam, is the starting point of the yatra that takes place every year in the month of Sawan (July to August). The road from Pahalgam to Chandanwari is on fairly flat terrain and can be undertaken by car. From Chandanwari onwards the track becomes much steeper, and is accessible on foot or by pony. About 11 km from Chandanwari is the mountain lake of Sheshnag (3,574 m), after which, 13 km away is the last stop, Panchtarni. The Amarnath cave is 6 km away from there. During the month of Sawan, an ice stalagmite forms a natural Shivling in the Amarnath cave. Overnight at the Hotel.

After breakfast, proceed for a Day Excursion to Sonamarg

Sonamarg

Sonamarg gives rise to The Three Sisters (Kashmir). In its vicinity lies the great Himalayan glaciers of Kashmir Valley namely Kolhoi Glacier and Machoi Glacier with some peaks of above 5000 meters: Sirbal Peak, Kolhoi Peak, and Amarnath Peak andMachoi Peak. Sonamarg an alpine valley is situated at the bank of Nallah Sindh 87 km north-east from Srinagar, it is a popular tourist destination, nestled within the imposing Himalayan peaks. It lies at an altitude of 2800 metres above sea level. The drive to Sonamarg is through yet another spectacular facet of country side in Kashmir, this time its the Nallah Sindh, the largest tributary of the Jehlum River in the valley of Kashmir. It is upwards of sixty miles long valley and deep rock-girt gorge to open grassy meadow land and village-dotted slopes.

Day 03

Srinagar to Pahalgam (95 Kms / 2 Hrs Approx.)

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart by road for Pahalgam. After breakfast leave from Srinagar and drive Pahalgam (Vale of Kashmir) In the way visit saffron fields and enroute Avanti Raja’s ruined Palace. Pahalgam is the most famous place for Film industry.

Pahalgam:

Pahalgam it is a popular tourist destination, and every year, many tourists visit Pahalgam. This world famous hill station is 45 km. from the District Head Quarter at Anantnag and located on the banks of Lidder River at an altitude of 7200 ft. from sea level. Pahalgam is one among the five tehsils of Anantnag district and tehsil head quarters are located in the main town of Pahalgam. It was once a tourist attraction and a favourite place for shooting of Bollywood films, and is still a health resort. Besides tourist huts, several hotels in private sector have come up here and these hotels provide modern facilities to their guests. A number of treks in this region also begin from Pahalgam, as the 35 km trail traverses through pinewoods to the spectacular Kolahoi Glacier.

Pahalgam to Gulmarg (149 Kms / 3 Hrs Approx.)

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart by road for Gulmarg. Upon arrival, Check in at the hotel. You can enjoy a pony ride and also enjoy a Gondola ride (cable car) to Khalinmarg. Evening is free to explore the charm & beauty of Gulmarg Valley.

Gulmarg:

Gulmarg - "Meadow of Flowers" is a town, a hill station, a popular skiing destination and a notified area committee in Baramula district in the Indian state ofJammu and Kashmir. The town is within the Himalayas and is within miles of the Line of Control between India and Pakistan. Gulmarg has been a resort for the kings like Yousuf Shah Chak and Jahangir who used to visit frequently. The old name of Gulmarg was "Gaurimarg", the name of Lord Shiva's wife. Yousuf Shah Chak changed its name to Gulmarg, meaning the place of roses. During the early part of the 20th century the famous Central Asian explorer Sir Marc Aurel Stein (1862–1943), made his home here in a tent between his expeditions. It was a favorite summer holiday destination for the British stationed in India.

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart by road for Srinagar. Upon arrival, Check in at the hotel.
