Manchester has always been a busy, successful city, but it did fall on hard times during the general economic downturn in the 1960s and 70s, and some areas become quite rundown and dilapidated. However in recent years huge sums of money have been pumped into regeneration projects across the city, which has boosted the overall redevelopment of the area, and these days Manchester’s economic growth is once again booming, and there are a great number of attractions for visitors including a lively arts and culture scene and plenty of shops, bars, hotels and restaurants.
