There are several major international airports in the UK and these offer a number of facilities including onsite hotels. One of the main benefits of choosing a hotel located close to the airport is that they offer Park and Fly deals and these can save you a lot of money on your travel.

Most people do not live close to the airport they want to travel from when they go abroad on business or leisure trips. For most people it is cheaper and easier to drive their own car to the airport, but this can incur additional costs such as airport parking which can be expensive. You can save money by staying the night before in a hotel close to the airport and taking advantage of one of their Park and Fly deals. This will also allow you to get some rest and have a good breakfast before you have to tackle the busy airport checking in areas. Hotels also provide complimentary transfers to the main terminals and some may also be within easy walking distance.

Most Park and Fly deals will allow you to park your car for to 15 days in the hotel car park as part of the deal. Some hotels will also provide free collection services so that your car will be waiting for you in the pick area outside the hotel when you return from your holiday. It is important to choose a hotel that offers secure parking areas with 24/7 surveillance if you are going to be leaving your car for any long periods of time.

Park and Fly deals can save you money and also offer a relaxed, stress free way to start your holidays.

Located close to the French Normandy, Jersey is a British Island that puzzle people as to how such a small place can offer such a wide range of attractions. Jersey is a Crown possession and does not really belong to the UK nor is it a part of the European Union. Amongst all the British Channel islands it is found to be the largest; the climatic conditions here are moderate and pleasant throughout the year. Winters and summers are mild.
If you plan to visit the Island of Jersey, this list of five must visit places will prove invaluable while planning.

The Jersey Art Center is where every kind of art related activity including performing art takes place and thus it is a very popular tourist destination. Shows, plays, and performances take place here on a daily basis. The performance, either by professionals or by amateurs, promises to be very entertaining. The royal view, interiors and the amount of information evident and deducible from the walls will awe any person visiting this center.

The Royal Jersey Show-ground is the location for almost all conferences and get-together here. The beautiful vista of the whole area can be enjoyed from the calm countryside which allows tourists to select places they want to visit. Family meetings and all such other events are held in the halls within the campus here and they are a frequent occurrence. The halls are a stone’s throw from St. Helier, the capital town, thereby making it easily accessible to all the residents on the islands.

The Jersey Zoo, founded by Gerald Durrell, occupies hundreds of acres and has many rare and exotic animals and birds on exhibition some of which are on the endangered species list. The animals within the perimeter of the zoo have full freedom to roam the length and breath of the place, with no inhibiting fences or cages. Viewing the animals in such a state gives one a glimpse into their behavior in their natural habitat. The center also engages in the breeding of some of the endangered species of wild life and frees them in the wild, once they can be reasonably sure that the released animals can survive on their own. This program helps the ecology survive and flourish by replenishing its fauna.

The Jersey War Tunnels is a delightful museum and it relates accurately the history of the German occupation of the islands during World War II. It also tells of the island’s growth and transition since then. This education makes the Jersey War tunnels so attractive and irresistible to the tourists.

Hauteville House once hosted the legendary Victor Hugo during his exile and is a popular attraction for tourists. Hugo is said to have gotten his inspiration from here and written Les Miserables. The house, furniture, books, and other items used by Hugo is well preserved within the Hauteville House. There are holiday villas, self catering holiday apartments and holiday cottages available to the tourists and they can rent these homes directly from their owners.

They are so many beautiful things to see in Jersey. You might get here and decide never to return home.

It’s possible to get a little blasé about the well-trodden tourist trail that awaits visitors to London and southern England. Repeat visitors to the UK capital will known that familiar feeling of standing after arrival at London’s Victoria, St Pancras International, Waterloo, or Liverpool St Stations and just gazing out over a vista that promises little more than postcards of the royal family, traditional ales, or all-day breakfasts.

There are a few new and innovative additions to the walking tour scene, and of course the vibrant street festivals that characterise certain districts of London and that are a fun and flavoursome way to get a taste of all the quirks of London city life, but when it comes to accommodation, you’d be understood if you were left scratching your head a little.

The choice between all the different types and styles of hotels in London is certainly mind-boggling, and the right choice often depends on your travel requirements – for instance travelling on a strictly-enforced budget and checking into youth hostels in London, something more extravagant but better suited for a business trip, right through to travelling with a family or looking into the possibility of self-catered apartments.

Yet there is a way to experience something new on your next trip to London and southern England – and that’s by taking a step back to enjoy life in the slow lane. Hotel boats are an unbeatable way to sample the ebbs and flows of life in London, to check out some of the prime sights from a different perspective, and to spend an idyllic or romantic weekend. Catered for couples or small groups, there are only a few hotel barges that offer their services along the Thames, but the experience is well worth it. Staying onboard overnight also gives guests a fine opportunity to feel exactly what it would be like to own a houseboat, and it’s a hands-down winner over day cruises, both in terms of value for money and catering.

Discover a new side to London, come down to the riverside.

Manchester has always been a busy, successful city, but it did fall on hard times during the general economic downturn in the 1960s and 70s, and some areas become quite rundown and dilapidated. However in recent years huge sums of money have been pumped into regeneration projects across the city, which has boosted the overall redevelopment of the area, and these days Manchester’s economic growth is once again booming, and there are a great number of attractions for visitors including a lively arts and culture scene and plenty of shops, bars, hotels and restaurants.

Top Attractions

Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester

Manchester has played a huge part in the development of science and industry in Britain and this huge museum has been built on the site of the oldest passenger railway building yard in the world, and has many exhibits celebrating scientific and industrial achievements. The museum also has a shop, café and restaurants for visitors to enjoy.

People’s History Museum

This museum is also housed in a building of historical interest, an old Edwardian hydraulic pumping station, and celebrates the history of the working classes in Britain, and has some fascinating exhibits on the harsh realities of major industries throughout British industrial development such as the cotton industry. The museum also includes an Archive and Study Centre, which is a great resource for people who want to learn more about Manchester’s interesting history.

Manchester Cathedral

There have been three cathedrals on this site, and the current cathedral is a stunning mix of medieval and gothic architecture, and contains some notable treasures such as the medieval woodcarvings of the Ripon Carvers. Visitors can enjoy the licensed restaurant in the basement, which offers a stunning mix of historic surroundings and good food. There is also a very good visitors centre at the site that utilises mixed media and interactive displays to cover the history of the cathedral and what life was like in mediaeval Manchester.
